🖤 How to Outsmart Your Anxiety

Because sometimes, your brain is the drama.

1. Name the Narrator

Anxiety has a voice. Give it a name. Not your name — its own. Call it “The Overthinker” or “Captain Catastrophe.”
When your mind spirals into worst-case scenarios, say:

“Thanks for your input, Captain, but I’m not hiring panic as my life coach today.”

Separating yourself from anxious thoughts gives you power. You're not your fear — you’re just hearing from it.

2. Shrink the What-If Spiral

Anxious brains love “What if?”

What if I fail? What if they hate me? What if I trip and land in emotional ruin?

Answer it. Literally.

“Then I’ll figure it out. And probably learn something useful.”

When you answer the “what if,” you break its grip. Fear loves vagueness. Certainty weakens it.

3. Make a Deal With Your Brain

Tell your anxiety: “Worry time is at 5 p.m.”
Schedule it. And when your brain tries to interrupt you at lunch or 3 a.m., say:

“Not now. You’ll get your slot later.”

This trick — called delayed worry — teaches your mind boundaries. You’re training your thoughts, not silencing them.

4. Move. Literally.

Anxiety is not just in your head — it’s also in your nervous system.
Movement signals safety. A short walk, some stretching, or even shaking out your hands sends a quiet message to your body:

“We're safe. No tiger. No email apocalypse. We're fine.”

Bonus tip: Try bilateral movement (walking, drumming fingers left-right, etc.). It calms both brain hemispheres.

5. Don’t Believe Everything You Think

Anxiety lies. With confidence.
It tells you you're annoying, behind, doomed, or that everyone secretly hates you. Spoiler alert: That’s not intuition — that’s your nervous system on overdrive.

A helpful phrase:

“Is this a fact, or just a fear?”

Your thoughts are not prophecies. They're just thoughts. You don’t owe them your truth.

🖤 In Summary:

  • Anxiety is loud — but you can be louder.

  • You don’t cure anxiety by fighting it. You outwit it.

  • Give it a name. Set boundaries. Speak facts. Move. Breathe. Repeat.

And remember: You are not fragile. You’re strategic.
Even with your heart pounding.
